People in New York are CRAZY
It was one of those mornings where the line to get on the subway is five people deep and you know at least three trains will pass before you can cram your body into one. It was 9:30 a.m. so everyone was running late and Snowstorm ‘09 leftovers turned to mud in the station —- tensions were high.
As I walked down the stairs, I heard a woman scream “you better not get on here if you are gunna spill that [expletive] coffee on me!”
The man proceeded to force his way onto the packed train. The woman blocked the door with her body so the subway couldn’t pull away, and smacked steaming cup of coffee out of his hand onto the people still standing on the platform.
The train couldn’t pull away for five minutes (a heck of a long time for the subway to just sit there during rush hour) as the woman wouldn’t get out of the doorway - she was yelling, spilled on people were yelling, conductor was yelling… coffee man just stood there in silence.
People were angry about their clothes, her etiquette, the time… but the best thing anyone said during the scene… “Woman, that was Starbucks! That [expletive] is expensive!!”
